Our Beautiful TG

This is TG (The Game Is On). He came to Douglas Legacy Farm in March 2016.  He crossed over to meet up with his friends on February 27, 2025. He was the most gentle, caring, amazing horse.  He was one of four that came to us as a rescue horse from Racer Placers.  We got him through many health issues.  We believe he lived out the last 9 years with the life of grazing and love from many visitors to the farm.  Rest in peace our loyal friend.

The Mission of the Douglas Legacy Farm is provide a lifelong home for rescued horses as they provide a supportive role for individuals experiencing challenges in life.

The Douglas Legacy Farm was set aside as a trust in 2012 by Pearl A. Douglas as an equine rescue farm dedicated to serving veterans, and as a way to honor her late husband, Russell Douglas. Russell served in the Army Air Force during World War II as part of the 390th Bombardment Group. When World War II ended he returned to the family farm. Russell and Pearl were married in 1947. They spent their lives raising dairy cattle and dedicating themselves to community and church. Both Russell and Pearl lived to be 95 years of age.

The Pearl A. Douglas Trust is dedicated to serving veterans through providing a place to meet and talk, and by making the horses available to veterans to groom, walk, or for simply sharing some quiet time together. Because of the physical limitations of our horses, we do not allow the horses to be ridden. All services for veterans are at no cost.

The Pearl A. Douglas Trust is dedicated to caring for the horses entrusted to the Douglas Legacy Farm with the greatest of kindness and best of care. The trust does not buy or sell horses, nor does it breed horses. The horses live their days in harmony on an open pasture.
